As part of the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, St. John’s United Church of Christ will host a program titled Add Flavor and Joy to Your Life on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m.

“For over 30 years,” Belinda Lent of St. John’s UCC said, “our communities have grown with a new culture of people, the many Guatemalan families in Dover and New Philadelphia. Please join us to hear community members share how their interactions with their Guatemalan acquaintances have enriched their lives.”

Several people will share how their friendships with individuals and families from a different culture have enriched their lives. Amy Zurcher and 10-year-old Sofia Gonzalez Calel will talk about the joy their bond brings to them. Amy Harris and Ruperto and Toña Itzep Santiago will share how their friendship has deepened over the years and the things they have learned from each other.

People who attend this program will be able to stamp their Mucho Gusto passport, which makes them eligible to win a prize basket at the end of the month-long celebration. Passports can be picked up at the Dover Public Library, Fourth & Faith or the Tuscarawas County YMCA. They also will be available at the program.

This program will be held at St. John’s United Church of Christ Fourth & Faith, 401 N. Wooster Ave., Dover. Register online at www.doverlibrary.org/events or call the library at 330-343-6123.
