Mohican Traditions Festival coming Sept. 2
Mohican Traditions Festival will take place Saturday, Sept. 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Loudonville’s Central Park.
A variety of handmade items from roughly 40 vendors will be on display and available for purchase during the annual event.
“There will be all different kinds of things to pick from, such as jewelry, soaps, key chains, wood-crafted items, bath and body products, crafting items, T-shirts, and all kinds of different things,” said Valerie Spreng, Loudonville Chamber of Commerce executive director.
Spreng said the event’s vendors come from different parts of Ohio to sell their items, and one will come from out of state this year.
“She’s coming to visit family that weekend and found out this was going on, so she’s going to set up here, but the vendors are kind of from all over Ohio,” Spreng said. “There’s some local ones, and then there’s some from all over the state.”
Multiple food vendors also will be in attendance including ones that sell ice cream, coffee and lemonade. A disc jockey will play music, and several bounce houses — sponsored by Mohican Appliance, Raby Hardware and The Indigo Owl Boutique — will be set up for children to enjoy.
“All of the arts and crafts items are really neat to look at (and) all the different things that people can make,” Spreng said. “There’s something for everybody, whether it’s mom or dad or kids. There’s always something there that everybody’s going to like with the bounce houses for the kids and the DJ (and) the downtown shopping.
“It’s just a fun day to bring the family out and have something to do.”
