Rural Action and the Huff Run Watershed Restoration Partnership will host an ice-cream social on Sunday, June 27 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Mineral City Park.

The ice-cream social will be on a first come, first served basis. Stop at the park next to 8728 High St. NE in Mineral City for free ice cream and the opportunity to talk with AmeriCorps members about the work happening in the community.

“It is important for the Huff Run Watershed Restoration Partnership to have a strong connection with the community because it allows us to do our service more effectively,” said Vicki Irr, AmeriCorps member with Rural Action. “Community meetings give us the opportunity to learn more about our community’s needs. They also help us make valuable new connections and strengthen the existing connections we already have in the community.”

If interested in attending the ice-cream social, visit the picnic tables at Mineral City Park to partake in ice cream, pictures and informational handouts.
