Paul Mullet recently informed the board of plans to leave his position as director of Lighthouse of Hope, more commonly known as The Pier, near Mt. Eaton. His departure will be effective sometime this fall after a replacement has been identified. Paul is pursuing other areas of ministry and service to the community.
The Lighthouse of Hope board of directors deeply appreciates Pauls contribution during the past 11 years. Under his leadership, programs and events were initiated and developed including basketball and softball leagues and tournaments, concerts, community programs and outreach, Something for Seniors, a variety of seminars, Amish Youth Night and youth rallies.
Lighthouse of Hope expanded its opportunities for the community with special projects, including a new softball field, playground, adding a hitching shed and acquiring additional acreage for future expansion. Partnerships with businesses and individuals in the community have made these dreams become a reality. HopeFest has become a successful community fundraiser for Lighthouse of Hope, generating funds for special projects and expansion of programs.
Robert Hershberger, board president, expressed great appreciation for both Paul and his wife, Cindy, by saying, They have given so much to our organization over the past decade and will be greatly missed. Their hard work helped build excellent programming and maintain quality facilities to serve the community and share the light of Christ.
As Mullet reflected on his time serving the community, its clear he felt a calling to serve. Its been a blessing to serve the community as director for Lighthouse of Hope the past 11 years, seeing Gods hand at work. I have many great memories and many new friends because of this opportunity.
I believe the time is right for transition and it will be a positive experience for everyone involved. A new director comes with new and fresh vision, giving the organization and the community new opportunities. Thanks to all past and present board members, advisory members and all financial supporters for all you have done to help Lighthouse of Hope be successful.
Mullet further explained, Im excited to see a new director build on the foundation that has been laid, and I believe the organization is in a stable position to launch into the next decade of growth and opportunity and will continue to be a shining light in our community.
The Lighthouse of Hope board is in the process of finding a full-time person or several part-time people to fill this position. People interested in this opportunity can send a resume to P.O. Box 95, Mt. Eaton 44659.
