Instead of locations throughout the city, readers of the Wooster Weekly News will only have to go as far as their mailbox to pick up the latest issue.

Starting with the March 7 edition, the WWN is now being mailed to every home in the 44691 zip code — a total of 20,463 homes each week that will receive the free weekly publication from AloNovus Corporation, the Millersburg-based company whose products also include publications in Coshocton, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Holmes, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, and Tuscarawas counties.

“Our decision to saturate the Wooster zip code was really driven by our clients,” said Michael Mast, AloNovus president. “The daily paper has lost 25 percent of its subscribers in the past year. That leaves a profound void in the market, and local businesses are excited about us filling that void with a tried-and-true product like the Wooster Weekly News.

“With this latest expansion and our recent acquisition of The Coshocton Beacon to the south our entire advertising network now exceeds over 375,000 homes — all through direct mail.

“No other publishers can touch that coverage and market penetration with the ease and affordability that we provide.”

When added with the Wayne Bargain Hunter, the number of homes reached by AloNovus print products in Wayne County is nearly 36,000.

Additionally, the papers will also be delivered to all businesses in Wooster and the Wayne County circulation area.

“As part of the AloNovus market development team, we are excited to be expanding our penetration in Wayne County, and mailing to every address in Wooster,” said Dan Price, market development manager. “The excitement stems from the positive feedback from our readers and the expressed results from our advertising partners. That has helped drive our expansion plans.

“Our mission is to work with local business owners to develop and implement strategic plans to help grow their business. We do this by employing our experience and expertise to help folks develop and share the story of the business, what they do and why. We have many products and services that allow us share that story and reach the right audience — local, travel and tourism, and beyond.

“It is very rewarding to be able to help folks achieve their goals and grow their business,” Price added. “We believe and have proven that solid strategic planning is the making of good results.”

Combined with the Holmes Bargain Hunter in neighboring Holmes County, an area that includes Wayne County locations Shreve and Fredericksburg, the circulation includes more than 59,000 homes.

“The thing that really sets us apart is the combination of great content and direct mail, especially the fact that we mail to every home, not just a few, here and there, and that we’ve had the opportunity, over the years, to develop lasting relationships with our readers,“ said Mast.

“I think that shows the commitment being made by the company,” said WWN editor Mike Plant. “Not just to our readers, who we try to serve each week with a blend of stories and other useful information, but also to our advertisers — they can get their message out directly to their audience and with total market coverage. It doesn’t get much better than that.”
