Agnes V. Ridgway, 91, of Uhrichsville, died Jan. 29, 2010, at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center, Uhrichsville, following a period of declining health.
Born Feb. 20, 1918, in New Philadelphia, Anges was a daughter of the late Allen and Alta Parker. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and homemaker, she had worked for several area businesses over the years, including the Brown Derby and Dennison Eagles, and at Pangrazios, where she enjoyed working until the age of 85 when her health prevented her from continuing. A lifelong resident of Tuscarawas County, she attended New Philadelphia High School and was a member of the Dennison Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and the Twin Cities VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son, Rick (Marlene) Ridgway of Dennison; daughters, Debbie (John C.) Meyer of Uhrichsville and Beverly Hoover of New Philadelphia; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; stepdaughters, Kay (William) Lehmiller, Billie (Thomas) Smith, and Nelda Jean (Ronald) Young; sisters, Betty Grandison of Uhrichsville and Kathleen Baker of Dennison; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Ridgway, whom she married in 1949; brother, Robert Parker; sister, Alice Parker and infant sister, Eileen Parker.
Services were held Feb. 2, 2010, at R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home, Dennison, with Rev. Harry Milligan officiating. Interment was in Gnadenhuttens Clay-Union Cemetery.
