Amanda M. Raber

                        
Amanda M. Raber, 78, of Baltic died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 11:15 p.m. in her residence following a 10-month battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 22, 1935 in Holmes County to the late Mose D. and Anna (Erb) Troyer of Millersburg. She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. She was married Oct. 9, 1958 to Mose E. Raber who died Jan. 1, 2010. She is survived by three sons and five daughters, Dan (Mary) Raber of the home, Mary (David) Shetler of Sugarcreek, Katie Raber, John (Miriam) Raber and Anna Mae (Harvey) Miller all of Millersburg, Abe (Ruth) Raber of Baltic, Barbara (Dan) Raber of Millersburg, Betty (Robert) Raber of Sugarcreek; 44 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; stepmother, Mrs. Mose (Elizabeth) Troyer of Fresno; sister, Mary Troyer of Fresno; sisters-in-law, Mattie Troyer of Millersburg and Anna Troyer of Fresno. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded by a son-in-law, Daniel A. Raber; a grandson, Aaron A. Raber; a brother, Abe M. Troyer; half-brother, Andy M. Troyer and brother-in-law, Mose M. Troyer. Services were held Friday, April 18, 2014 at 9 a.m. at the Raber residence with Bishop Noah N.L. Yoder officiating. Burial was in Erb Cemetery in Clark Township, Holmes County. Arrangements were handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home (www.smithfuneral.com) at Sugarcreek.
