Bertha M. Lafferty, 89, of Middlefield, formerly of Dover, died August 4, 2012, at the Briar Hill Health Care Residence. Born Nov. 22, 1922, in Dover, Bertha was a daughter of the late Frank and Marie Walters. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Bertha is survived by her daughter, Patricia (William) Steiner of Middlefield; sister, Vera Shoemaker of Columbus; grandchildren, David and Lisa Steiner; and great-grandson, Dylan Steiner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Lafferty; son, David Lafferty; and brothers, Vincent, Gail, and Jack Walters. Per Bertha’s request, cremation will be entrusted to Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. There will be no services or calling hours.
