Betsy Baxter, 62, of Dover, died August 24, 2012, at her home, with her family at her side. The daughter of Warren and Emily Rummell of New Philadelphia, Betsy was born Nov 14, 1949, in Dover. She was a former librarian for the Dover Public library and enjoyed reading, sewing, and being a homemaker for her family. Survivors include her husband, James “Jim” Baxter; sons, Eric (Ann) and Ken Baxter, both of New Philadelphia; sisters, Andrea (James) Beckley of Lakeland, Fla., Susan (Allen) Ferguson of Republic, Wash., Dana (Brian) Sweet of St. Augustine, Fla., and Nita (Clyde) Heavlin of New Philadelphia; special friends, Rick, Melanie, Megan, and Madison Cercone; and numerous nieces and nephews. Betsy will also be sadly missed by a host of baseball players from the American Legion team over the past few decades. There will be no calling hours. Cremation has been entrusted to the Geib Tuscarawas Valley Crematory, Dover. Private services will be held at a later date.
