Carl R. Schupbach, 87, of New Philadelphia, died Feb. 15, 2010, at his home, following a sudden illness. Born March 28, 1922, in Massillon, Carl was a son of the late John A. and Alma Schupbach. He retired from Gene Reese Trucking after more than 20 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dover, the Teamsters Union, Canton, and was an Army Air Corp veteran of WWII. Surviving are his wife, Jeanne Schupbach, whom he married in 1967; sons, Leslie (Krista) Schupbach of Dover, Gregory (Cathy) Schupbach of Virginia, and Tom Lab of North Carolina; brother, LeRoy Schupbach of Strasburg; 11 grandchildren, Laura, Riley, Ramsey, Christopher, Michael, Gregory, Roberta, Edward, Theresa, Stephanie, and Kevin; and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass was held Feb. 19, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Philadelphia, with Msgr. George Schlegel officiating. Cremation took place through the care of the Toland-Herzig Crematory. Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, New Philadelphia, handled arrangements. Those wishing to share a fond memory of Carl may do so at www.tolandherzig.com. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 613 N. Tuscarawas Ave. Dover 44622.
