Carol Beckley obituary

                        
Carol Sue Beckley, 66, of Dennison, died Feb. 8, 2010, at Twin City Hospital, Dennison, from complications following surgery. Born March 4, 1943, in Harrison County near Tappan Lake, Sue was a daughter of the late Charles Edgar and Mary Margaret Garabrandt McGill. She was a lifelong resident of the area, having been a 1961 graduate of Port Washington High School before making her home in the Twin Cities for many years. She was a cook for a number of area restaurants, including the former L&K Restaurant, Rod’s Donut Shop, Perkins, and the S&E Truckstop. Sue was a gifted seamstress who enjoyed making clothing and took special delight in making hand-sewn quilts for each of her grandchildren upon their graduation from high school. Surviving are her husband, Charles Robert “Chuck” Beckley, whom she married in 1962; sons, Mark (Deborah) Beckley of Uhrichsville, Danny Beckley of Dennison, Timothy Beckley of New Philadelphia, and John (Kimberly) Beckley of Gnadenhutten; 10 grandchildren, Derek, Anthony, Alex, Ashley, Shawn, Brittany, Steven, Christine, Tyler, and Courtney; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Brock; son-in-law, Douglas Albright; sister-in-law, Freda Garbrandt; a nephew, Wayne Garbrandt; and a niece, Tootie Stiffler. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebekah Albright. Services were held Feb. 12, 2010, at R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home, Dennison, with Rev. Bob James officiating. Interment was in Conotton Cemetery. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution may do so to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of their choice.
