Charles Pyers Jr., 72, of Killbuck, died Jan. 29, 2010, at Akron City Hospital, following a short illness.
Charles was born April 9, 1937, in Killbuck, to the late Charles Clyde and Alice Pyers. He was a farmer all his life and worked for Rice & Chadwick Rubber Co., Killbuck, for 35 years, retiring in 2003. He was honorably discharged from the Air National Guard and was a member of the Killbuck VFW. He was a 4-H adviser when his children were active in the program.
Surviving are his wife, Gail Pyers, whom he married in 1986; children, Eric Pyers, Seth Pyers, Kevin Pyers, Kerin Campbell, and Gregg Pyers; stepchildren, Mary Workman, James Wencel, John Wencel, Mike Wencel, and Therese Alameda; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brothers, Clyde Pyers and Paul Pyers.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Harmon.
Memorial services will be held Feb. 3, 2010, at 5:30 p.m., at Killbuck Valley Church, with Pastor Joe Milazzo officiating. There will be no calling hours.
