Deanna Geiser obituary

                        
Deanna L. Geiser, 71, of Kidron, died Feb. 22, 2010, at Akron City Hospital, following a long period of declining health. Deanna was born Dec. 9, 1938, in Millersburg, to Harry and Marcella Phillabaum. She was a 1956 graduate of Berlin High School and lived most of her life near Kidron. She was a homemaker and had previously worked at the former Osteopathic Hospital, Orrville, served as head cook at Shady Lawn Nursing Home, Dalton, and as an aide at Wooster Community Hospital. She was a member of Kidron Mennonite Church. Deanna enjoyed watching all sports, including the Indians and Cavs, and especially enjoyed softball tournaments at the Kidron Park. Surviving are her husband, Dennis D. Geiser, whom she married in 1957; children, Karen (Edgar) Gaspard of Kaplan, La., Rodney Geiser and Ronda Geiser, both of Kidron, and Marcia (Joe) Eggleston and Ty (Diane) Geiser, both of Orrville; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Norma Jean Kamp of Orrville; and brother, Ralph Phillabaum of Berlin. She was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy McCauslin and Maxine Phillips; and brothers, Leonard, Cloice, and Carl Phillabaum. Family graveside services were held in Kidron Mennonite Church Cemetery, with Pastor Thomas Dunn officiating. Spidell Funeral Home, Mt. Eaton, handled arrangements.
