Delbert “Del” G. Hall
Delbert “Del” G. Hall, age 98, died Tuesday, June 19, 2018, while surrounded by his family.
Del was born on Jan. 26, 1920, in Akron to Budd and Orla (Bonnett) Hall and had been a Wayne County resident for 79 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II and the Korean War.
Del served as past commander of the American Legion Post 718 in Marshallville, where he was a life member. He also was a life member of VFW Post 3446 in Orrville and 40 & 8 Locale 303. He retired from the Georgia Pacific Corporation in 1979.
Del attended St. Agnes Catholic Church in Orrville and was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5506 and Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Council 843 in Wooster.
While living in Florida, Del served as a board member of MontMartre and also the Belleair Beach Resort in Belleair Beach
Del is survived by children, Michael (Norma) Hall, Stephen Hall (his best bud), David (Leslie-deceased) Hall, Andrea (John) Dodds, Anita (John-deceased) Gochnauer, John (Marybeth) Hall, Susan (Larry) Croskey and Rosemarie (Phil) Sullenger; 21 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Del was preceded in death by his loving wife Rose in 2014; parents; sister, Dola; and brothers, Denny, Dale and Don.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Orrville on Friday, June 22 at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Ronald Turek as celebrant. Burial with military honors will take place at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster.
