Dennis D. Weaver, 61, of Sugarcreek went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 2, 2014 surrounded by his loving family, following a yearlong battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 26, 1952 in Dover to the late Dan D. and Ada (Raber) Weaver and his late stepfather, Chris A. Miller. He attended NewPointe Community Church where he served on the Chair Team and in children’s ministry for 17 years. He was blessed by his Men’s Bible Study Group. His greatest joy was his grandkids and spending time with his family. He loved making the grandkids popcorn and taking them on four-wheeler rides. His grandchildren affectionately called him Papa. He owned and operated Weaver Appliance at Sugarcreek since 1989. He loved the service he provided to his customers and giving back to his community. He lived his life by the Golden Rule and encouraged his children to be generous and live to serve the Lord. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Jane Pasquarelli whom he married August 24, 1974; his children, Monica (Nathan) Bear, Lily and Kingman of Sugarcreek, Theresa (Jason) Clay, Madi, Sophie and Lincoln of Dover, Sandra (Joe) Head, Faith and Cora of Sugarcreek and Mark Weaver and Joey Weaver both of Sugarcreek; his brothers, Bob (Sue) Weaver of Big Prairie and Eli (Laura) Weaver of Dundee; brother-in-law, Ivan Yoder of Sugarcreek and many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Denny. In addition to his parents and stepfather, he was preceded in death by his sister, Miriam Yoder and nephews, Titus and Myron Yoder. Services were held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. at NewPointe Community Church with Pastor Dwight Mason officiating. Private family burial followed at his home. Friends called Friday from 4-8 p.m. at NewPointe Community Church. Arrangements were handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek.
