Douglas Froman obituary

                        
Douglas E. Froman, 63, of Strasburg, died Feb. 6, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center, following an extended illness. Born Nov. 11, 1946, in Dover, Douglas was a son of Maurice and Esther “Sis” Froman of Bolivar. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Strasburg, and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He had been employed at JRB, Akron. Doug was known for his woodworking skills and enjoyed making different items in his shop. He was also an avid collector of Santa Claus figurines. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Heather Froman, whom he married in 1970; sons, Matt (Brenda) Froman, Tyler Froman (fiancee, Krissy Bechtold), and Troy (LaVonne) Froman, all of Strasburg; brother, Maurice (Linda) Froman Jr. of Bolivar; sister, Lillian (Ed) Galli of Dover; seven grandchildren, Grace, Carter, Makaylee, Maycee, Kacey, Madisyn, and Bryson; and his favorite Yorkie, Baylee. Services will be held Feb. 10, 2010, at 11 a.m., at St. John United Church of Christ, Strasburg, with Pastor Gary Friend officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Union Cemetery, Strasburg. Friends can call at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Feb. 9, from 4-7 p.m. Those wishing to share a fond memory of Doug may do so at www.tolandherzig.com.
