Edward C. Rinehart

                        
Edward C. Rinehart, 88, a lifelong resident of Dover passed away early Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Hennis Care Centre of Bolivar following a brief illness. Born in Dover Feb. 21, 1926, he was the son of the late Marvin and Anna (Rothacher) Rinehart. On July 6, 1947, he married Donna Angel, who preceded him in death Dec. 2, 2013 following 66 years of marriage. Following Ed’s retirement from the City of Dover, the couple enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States. Ed enjoyed riding motorcycles with his friends and volunteering at the Cat Shelter in Dover. He was a member of the Schoenbrunn Moravian Church in New Philadelphia. He will be sadly missed by two daughters, Kazette (Tim) Bridgeman of Lexington and Sherrie Baughman of Zoar; son, Rick (Therese) Rinehart of Dover; two sisters, Martha (Edgar) Lengler of Dover; June (Wayne) Piper of West Chester; a brother, Jack (Joan) Rinehart of New Philadelphia; along with seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to Donna and his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Croy and Ruth Welshenbaugh; a granddaughter, Rachel Jean Rinehart and a grandson, James M. Rinehart. A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover Tuesday March 11 at 2 p.m. with pastor Peg Garner officiating. Interment will take place at Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. Those unable to attend, or who would like to share a fond memory of Edward may do so by visiting the “Obituaries and Flowers” link on the funeral home’s website.
