Elva Miller

                        
Elva Miller, 84, of Berlin died Monday, May 5, 2014 at Walnut Hills Nursing Home at Walnut Creek. She was born Sept. 12, 1929 in Holmes County to the late Christ and Bena (Miller) Beachy. She retired from the Walnut Hills Community where she worked as an aide and in laundry service. She was a member of the Walnut Creek Mennonite Church. She was married Feb. 23, 1956 to Noah M. “Ditcher” Miller. He died April 18, 2014. She is survived by her four children, Wendy (Jim) Miller of Apple Creek, Rick (Gayle) Miller of Dover, Ron (Suzette) Miller of Sugarcreek and Ralph (Tiffany) Miller of Baltic; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Esther (Pete) Schrock and Lizzie Ann (Roman) Beachy, both of Sugarcreek and a brother, Henry C. (Mary) Beachy of Walnut Creek. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Susie Schlabach, Ella Miller, Edna Beachy, Bena Beachy and Anna Beachy and an infant brother. Memorial services were held Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Walnut Creek Mennonite Church with Pastor Don Hamsher and Pastor Erik Miller officiating. Private family burial was in the church cemetery prior to services. Friends called Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Walnut Creek Mennonite Church. Arrangements were handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek. Memorials may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.
