Frances Norman obituary

                        
Frances Lucile Norman, 89, of New Philadelphia, died Feb. 8, 2010, at New Dawn Retirement Community, Dover, following a short illness. A daughter of the late Lawrence and Audra Rose, Frances was born Feb. 11, 1920, in Tippecanoe. She retired from Art’s Jewelers in 1985 and was also employed over the years at the Diamond Shoppe and at Montgomery Ward as a sales clerk. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, New Philadelphia, and New Philadelphia Lady Elks Lodge 510. Frances enjoyed tending to her floral gardens but especially enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren, even when it involved a game of kickball. Surviving are a daughter, Janet (Jim) Burns of Dover; two grandchildren, Richard (Tricia) Norman Jr. of Tucson, Ariz., and Michele (Mike) Giffen of Gnadenhutten; two great-grandchildren, Macy and Mitchell Giffen; and sister, Helen Cummings of Dennison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth P. Norman; and son, Richard Kenneth Norman Sr. Services were held Feb. 12, 2010, at Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory, New Philadelphia, with Dr. Rev. Steven Bailey officiating.
