Goldie M. Milliken, age 87 of Dover, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia.

Born on Sept. 21, 1930, in Dover, Goldie was the daughter of the late Donald B. and Goldie J. (Wernke) Stuber. She graduated from New Philadelphia High School with the Class of 1948. On Feb. 11, 1956, she married the love of her life, William R. “Bill” Milliken, who preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 2009. She also was preceded by her son, Richard “Rick” Milliken; daughter-in-law, Kathie Milliken; three brothers, Donald, Wayne and Dale Stuber; and her sisters, Maxine Miller and Jeanette Goudy.

Goldie was an inspector at the Timken Company in New Philadelphia for 30 years before her retirement. She was a member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ in Dover, Dover VFW Women’s Auxiliary and the Tuscarawas County Senior Center. She enjoyed ceramics and owned Towne Kiln Ceramics in Dover.

Goldie will be sadly missed by her son, James A. (Colleen) Milliken of Dover; four grandchildren, Robert (Susan) Milliken of Helena, Alabama, Christopher (Stephanie) Milliken of Singapore, Stacey (Steven) Crain of Atlanta, Georgia and Jamie Chatterton of Dallas, Texas (Fiance, Jeff Elder of Biloxi, Mississippi); seven great-grandchildren, Aaron and Erika Milliken of Helena, Alabama, Samantha and Alexis Milliken of Singapore, Ethan Shoup and Sophie Crain, both of Atlanta, Georgia, and Taylor (Kurt) Mitchell of Anna, Texas; a great-great-grandson, Ryder Milliken of Helena, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.   

Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Tuesday, Sept. 4 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Anslow officiating. A celebration of Goldie’s life will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Dover Burial Park. A funeral reception will take place in the “Famous Endings Museum” at the funeral home.
