Helen Souers obituary

                        
Helen J. Souers, 90, of Dover, died Feb. 6, 2010, at Union Hospital. Born August 23, 1919, in Fairpoint, Helen was a daughter of the late Melvin J. and Mary M. Boich. After living in several areas in Ohio, Helen and her family moved to Dover in 1933. She graduated from Dover High School in 1937 and was employed at the Exchange National Bank and remained in banking until her retirement from Bank One (now J.P. Morgan Chase) in 1982. Helen was an active bowler in the local ladies leagues at Thomas Alley’s and Boulevard Lanes in her earlier years. She was a member of Second Moravian-South Moravian Church, where she served as a trustee and a longtime financial secretary, and was currently a member of First Moravian Church, Dover. Helen was a kind, loving person who was also a kind, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law. She enjoyed sports and was a loyal follower and supporter of the careers of her son Jeff, her grandson Zach, and granddaughter Gretchen. She was also an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Surviving are her husband, Robert L. Souers, whom she married in 1948; son, Jeff (Suzanne) Souers of Wooster; granddaughter, Gretchen of Wooster; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Weaver; brother, Voin Boich; and grandson, Zachary Souers. Private family services were held Feb. 9, 2010, at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Pastor John Wallace officiating. Interment was in Dover Burial Park.
