Jacqueline J. Akins, 79, of Wooster, formerly of Seville, West Salem, and Rittman, died Feb. 18, 2010, at Akron City Hospital, following a long illness. Jacqueline was born Feb. 27, 1930, in Akron, to the late Howard and Dorothy Tarr. She was a graduate of Polk High School in 1947 and had last worked as a home health aide and previously was employed at Latex Industries, Chippewa Lake. She was a member of Polk Methodist Church, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Surviving are children, April Swartz of San Francisco, Calif., Dale (Mary Lou) Swartz of Phelps, Wis., and Gary Swartz of Cuyahoga Falls; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Dorothy Crossen of Polk, Phyllis (John) Kazar of Wadsworth, and Barbara (Jerry) Rohrer of St. Petersburg, Fla. There will be no services or calling hours. Cremation will take place. Auble Funeral Home, Orrville, assisted with arrangements.
