James “Jim” R. Law

                        
James “Jim” R. Law, 72, of New Philadelphia passed away in his home Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 following a courageous battle with cancer. Born Sept. 8, 1941 in Dover, he was the son of the late John R. and Sylvia Hendrickson Law. On March 2, 1963, he married the love of his life, Priscilla Bradley. Jim worked for Nickles Bakery and was a truck driver for Pepsi before retiring from Reese Trucking as a member of Teamster Union Local #92. Jim was a very devoted husband for over 50 years, father and grandfather. He enjoyed traveling and camping with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Priscilla, he will be sadly missed by his children; James (Vicky) Law of Dover, Christine (Mark) Van Sickle of New Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Andrew Law (fiancé, Kelly Ryan) of Bolivar, Carissa (Corey) Burke of Savannah, Ga., Corey and Nikki Van Sickle of New Philadelphia; along with two sisters, Ellen (Larry) Colaner of Massillon, Mary (David) Burrier of New Philadelphia; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Lois (Jim) Hendricks of Oregon, Floyd (Audrey) Bradley of Florida, Donald (Mary) Bradley of Arizona, Shirley Movsesian, Carolyn (Fred) Messina, Dottie (Dickie) Alger, Reta and (Jerry) McDonough and Sylvia (Bob) Baumeister all from the Boston area; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Law; two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law. He graduated from Strasburg High School in 1959. In honoring Jim’s wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. There will be a private graveside service at Dover Burial Park.
