Janet McDonnell obituary

                        
Janet A. McDonnell, 72, of North Canton, formerly of Bolivar, died unexpectedly Feb. 10, 2010, at Mercy Hospital, Canton. Janet was born Feb. 22, 1937, in Milwaukee, Wis., to the late John J. and Minnie Vitton. She received her RN degree from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn., and was a member of Church of the Holy Trinity, Zoar. She was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed painting, decorating, and reading. She especially enjoyed her precious granddaughters. Surviving are her husband, Harry G. McDonnell; children, Mary E. McDonnell of North Canton and Michael S. (Patricia) McDonnell of Jackson, Mich.; two granddaughters, Shannon and Colleen McDonnell of Jackson, Mich.; brother, John J. (Mary Lee) Vitton of Omaha, Neb.; sister, Lauri Hasselwander of Rochester Hills, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her bother-in-law and lifelong friend, Carl Hasselwander. A special thanks to Mark Hillyer and her sister-in-law, Karen McDonnell, for being there for her the last months of her life. Christian wake services were held Feb. 12, 2010, at Lebold Funeral Home, Bolivar, with Fr. Ed Keck officiating. Burial was in St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery, Bolivar.
