Jerome ‘Whitey’ Graber
Jerome “Whitey” Graber, age 79, of Hartville, passed peacefully at his home on Nov. 2, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vickie; and sister, Mary Overholt. Whitey is survived by children: Daniel J. (Sherry) Graber of Jasper, TN, William D. Graber of Hueytown, AL, Samantha (Anthony) Vitarella, Jeremy Wood, Rudy (Savannah) Costello, and David (Kyleigh) Graber, all of Hartville; grandchildren: Emma, Rebecca, Faith, Ryleigh, Matthew, Dolan, Samuel, Lucas, Kevin, Rudy, and Devin; and sister, Martha (Graber) Lapp.
Growing up in Pinecraft, Fla., and Hartville, Ohio, he was well known in the local community. He owned and operated Hartville Excavating, formerly known as Jonas Graber and Sons Excavating. He was a member of Community Baptist Temple in Akron. Whitey was loved by many and known for his hard work, integrity, sense of humor, and humility. He is home with the Lord and his work on earth is done.
Funeral service was held Nov. 6, 2021, at Maple Grove Mennonite Church, 2121 Smith Kramer St. NE, Hartville, with Rev. Mark O’Donnell officiating. Interment was private for the family in Oak Grove Cemetery.
