Jo Lynn Markay Papuga
Jo Lynn Markay Papuga, age 47 of New Philadelphia, died in her home on Oct. 5, 2018.
Born April 20, 1971, in Canton, Jo Lynn was the daughter of the late Linda (Marion) Zalesky and Joseph Zalesky.
After graduating from Tuscarawas Central Catholic in 1989, Jo Lynn continued her formal education at the University of Akron, obtaining her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. Most recently she was employed by Tuscarawas County Job and Family Services.
Jo Lynn was an active member of the Central Catholic family, serving for many years in the concession stand. Her two sons were her world, and she was their greatest support and cheerleader. She will long be remembered for her optimism and cheerful attitude.
Jo Lynn will be deeply missed by her sons, Trew and Tate Papuga, both students at the Ohio State University; her husband, Todd Papuga; siblings, Troy (Val) Raderchak of Strasburg, Joseph (Lisa) Zalesky and Francis Oliver; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leesa (Jim) Welfley of Dover, Robin (Perry) Traquina, Tina Marie Kane, Scott Peltier and Vaughn (Geri) Peltier; and her step-mother, Florence Zalesky of Dover.
Jo Lynn was preceded in death by her parents and her niece, Nicole Raderchak.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 11 from 5-8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Father Jeff Coning will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, beginning at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow the mass in Tuscarawas Central Catholic cafeteria.
