Juanita Crites obituary

                        
Juanita Faye Crites, 77, of New Philadelphia, died Jan. 22, 2010, at Union Hospital, Dover. A daughter of the late Russell Dewey and Florence Irene Hobart, Juanita was born Jan. 24, 1932, in Goshen Township. She was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School and for many years owned and operated Peg’s Beauty Shop, New Philadelphia. She enjoyed gardening and was very talented when it came to sewing, crocheting, and cooking. She even made her own furniture on occasion. She was also an advocate for the Tuscarawas County Standing Up for Downs Syndrome organization. Surviving are her husband, Clare Eugene “Bull” Crites; children, James (Patty) Erwin of Las Vegas, Nev., Jeannie (Hunk) Tarleton of Newport, Joni Erwin of Globe, Ariz., and Jeff (Julie) Erwin of New Philadelphia; stepchildren, Linda Cross of New Philadelphia, and Jackie Vosick and John Scott, both of Uhrichsville; seven grandchildren, Kari (Jason) Galigher, Kody (Alyssa) Murphy, Kaleb and Markie Tarleton, Rebekah and Kevin Gundy, and Emily Erwin; numerous great-grandchildren; and brother, Gene (Pat) Hobart of New Philadelphia. She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Crites. In keeping with Juanita’s wishes, cremation will take place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory. There will be no calling hours and private family services will be held, with inurnment taking place in St. James Cemetery, Tuscarawas.
