Kenneth D. Maust

                        
Kenneth D. Maust, 86, of Sugarcreek and a resident of Walnut Hills Nursing Home since 2005, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Walnut Hills Nursing Home following an extended illness. He was born Dec. 8, 1926 in Walnut Creek to the late Owen B. and Mary (Hostetler) Maust. He was a retired bulk fuel distributor for the former Sohio Company and then for BP. He was an Army veteran of WWII and a life member of the Sugarcreek Volunteer Fire Dept. He was married to Miriam L. (Hostetler) Maust who died Sept. 22, 1986. He is survived by his children, Dana (Mark) Yackey of Dover, Angela (Chris) Karakis of Akron, Gretchen Foster of Baltic, Greg A. (Karen) Maust of Sherrodsville and Eric C. (Sandy) Maust of Sugarcreek; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel Maust of Colorado and sister, Mary (Ed) Brenneman of Philadelphia, Pa. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a sister, Anna Gerber and a brother, Don Maust and daughter-in-law, Donna Maust. Services were held on Monday, July 1, 2013 at noon at Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek with Chaplain Ed Butler officiating. Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery. Friends called on Monday from 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home prior to services. Following services a luncheon was held in the Smith Family Center adjacent to the funeral home.
