Levi H. Troyer, 80, of Sugarcreek died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 9, 1934 in Mazie, Okla. to the late Henry and Katie (Yoder) Troyer. He is a retired farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. He was married Jan. 31, 1953 to Anna B. Troyer and she died Feb. 4, 1981.
He is survived by his second wife, the former Emma Coblentz, whom he married Oct. 28, 1982; his children, David (Betty) Troyer of Millersburg, William Troyer and Norman (Esther) Troyer, both of Sarasota, Fla., Levi, Jr., (Edna) Troyer of Wolcottville, Ind., Joseph Troyer of Sugarcreek, Leroy (Rhoda) Troyer of the home, Joyce (Dean) Beachy of Sugarcreek, Carol (Gary) Beachy of Sugarcreek, Mary Lou (John) Mullet of Millersburg, Marilyn (Joseph) Yoder of Dundee, Marlene (Adin) Schlabach of Sugarcreek, Katie Mae Troyer of the home and her special friend Mose Troyer; step-daughter, Norma Jean (Norman) Erb of Sugarcreek; 67 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; siblings, William (Verba) Troyer of Sugarcreek, Daniel (Millie) Troyer of Kinsman, Jr. (Sandy) Troyer of Pennsylvania, Joe (Vi) Troyer and Susan (Henry) Sommers, both of Canton, Anna (John) Armogost of Texas, Betty (Ben) Troyer of Canton, Alma Hershberger of Tennessee and Ruth Ann (Loren) Yoder of Arthur, Ill.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he is preceded in death by two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, an infant sister, Polly, two brothers-in-law, Henry Sommers and Willie Yoder, and sister-in-law, Esther Troyer.
Services were Saturday, March 15 at 9 a.m. at the Troyer residence with Bishop Albert Hochstetler officiating. Burial was in Erb Cemetery in Sugarcreek Township, Tuscarawas County. Friends may call anytime at the residence. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
