Lois Wenger
Lois Wenger, age 78 of Orrville and formerly of Smithville, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, at Orrvilla Maple Terrace, following a period of declining health.
Lois was born Nov. 18, 1940, in Wooster to the late Rev. Paul and Marie (Keller) Schmidt and graduated from South High School in Cleveland in 1958. She married Earl G. Wenger on Aug. 30, 1982, in Winchester, Virginia. Earl died Nov. 11, 2015.
Lois worked on the Christmas Line for J.M. Smucker, retiring in 2006.
Lois was a member of West Hill Baptist Church. She loved to travel anywhere and everywhere and made sure to take photos on all her excursions. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are 11 children, Christine "Tina" Rudy of Wooster, Paula (Bruce) Brown of Texas, Jillayne Jordan of Texas, Bert (Larry) Nitzsche of West Point, Nebraska, Helen (John) Miller of Smithville, Juanita (Buzz) Maxwell of Chagrin Falls, Jerry Wenger of Apple Creek, Dwayne (Brenda) Wenger of Wooster, Jolene (Bruce) Buss of Smithville, Wanda (Ron) Hebb of Apple Creek and Eugene (Nonya) Wenger of Wooster; son-in-law, John Felicjan of Medina; sister, Lyn (Art) Arvay of Wooster; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Lois was preceded in death by children, Randy Wenger and Shirley Felicjan; one grandchild; sister, Dorothea Ackerman; twin brother, Louis Schmidt; and brother, Paul Schmidt.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23 at West Hill Baptist Church, 2241 Mechanicsburg Road, Wooster, with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. Burial will take place at Smithville Cemetery in Smithville.
Friends may call on Friday at West Hill Baptist Church from 1-2 p.m.
