Marilyn Badertscher obituary

                        
Marilyn E. Badertscher, 70, of Wooster, died Jan. 28, 2010, at Glendora Nursing Home. Marilyn was born Feb. 25, 1939, in Holmes County, to the late Paul and Gladys Mackey. She was a homemaker and had been self-employed as a floral arranger. She was affectionately known to her customers as the “flower lady” and had worked at Nolletti’s Bakery in the 1950s. She enjoyed painting and doing floral designs, animals, gardening, family and friends, and the outdoors. Surviving are sons, Dale Lee (Debbie) Badertscher of Wooster and Daniel Badertscher of Orrville; stepson, David Brubaker of Newcomerstown; nine grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lou Wade of Apple Creek and Cindy Maglio of Orrville; and brother, Paul Mackey of Orrville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger D. Badertscher, whom she married in 1963; and sisters, Linda Davison and Carol Putnam. Services were held Feb. 1, 2010, at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Wooster. Interment was in Smithville Cemetery. Family would like to thank the staff at Glendora Health Care Center, where she enjoyed her time as a resident, and Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, for all their care and devoted attention. Contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
