May A. Hensel, 95, of Dover and formerly of Baltic, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at 9:12 PM in Park Village Health Care Center at Dover. Born July 19, 1918 in Atlanta, she was a daughter of the late Ralph D. and Annie (Witherspoon) Kestler. She received her Master’s Degree from the University of Georgia and retired as a science teacher after 27 years. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church at Baltic, the Baltic Women’s Club and the Eastern Star Lodge at West Lafayette. Her husband Clyde Odie Hensel, Sr. whom she married August 19, 1956, preceded her in death on April 12, 2002. She is survived by her children Annie (Jim) Ruth of Tallahassee, Fla., Bonnie Jean Cooper of Brewster, Clyde, (Susie) Hensel, Jr. of Dover, Ralph N. (Ann) Hensel of Sugarcreek, Jonathon A. (Gratziela) Hensel of Denver, Colo. and Larry R. (Anita) Hensel of Perry Township; 21 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and two sisters in law Nancy Hensel of Massillon and Nancy Hensel of Canton. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons Clyde L. Hensel and Ronnie Hensel; two sisters Ann Conner and Beulah Kestler and a brother Ralph W. Kestler. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the St. John Lutheran Church at Baltic with Rev. John Paul Maroni officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery at Baltic. Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Sugarcreek Library.
