Nancy J. Horst
Nancy J. Horst, age 81 of Orrville, died Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Shady Lawn Health Care Community in Dalton, following a period of declining health.
Nancy was born Jan. 11, 1938, in Massillon to the late Chester and Hilda (Reid) Vernon. She graduated from Orrville High School in 1956 and went on to Massillon Nursing School. She worked as a register nurse for Massillon Community Hospital for 41 years.
Nancy was a member of Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting, reading, bowling, gardening and feeding the birds.
Surviving are three sons, Jeff (Lianzi) Horst of Cary, North Carolina, Brad (Renee Mierzejewski) Horst of Duxbury, Massachusetts and Tim (Kristen) Horst of North Lawrence; two sisters, Shirley Eberly of North Lawrence and Bonnie (Willard) Stoll of Orrville; and three grandchildren, Justin Horst, Megan (Jeremy) Svensson and Trevor Horst.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18 at Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church, 14411 Orrville St. NW, North Lawrence, with Pastor Robert Mitchell officiating. Burial will take place at Newman’s Creek Cemetery in North Lawrence.
Friends may call on Friday at Auble Funeral Home, 512 E. Oak St., Orrville, from 5-8 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the service. Auble Funeral Home in Orrville is handling the arrangements.
