Norma Antonelli

                        
Norma Antonelli, 88, of Dover passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 in Dover surrounded by family following a period of declining health. Born Dec. 30, 1925 in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late John and Concetta Buzzelli. She graduated from Sacred Heart Commercial School in Columbus. Shortly after graduation, she became the secretary for State Auditor Joseph Ferguson. She later worked for the former Hello Shop in Dover and co-managed Seton Square for many years. On June 14, 1947 she married George Antonelli, who preceded her in death June 21, 1997. Together, George and Norma had seven children. When the couple started their family, Norma became a full-time mother for many years. She lovingly raised her children, and shared with them her cooking and homemaking skills. Norma loved cooking for her family and friends, and was an avid quilter. She enjoyed participating in card clubs, and a ladies bowling league. Norma was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a life member of the Dover VFW Auxiliary, and the Tuscarawas County Senior Center. For many years, she volunteered in the Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School cafeteria, St. Joseph Elementary, and the Tuscarawas County Senior Center. She will be sadly missed by her children, Patrick (Carole) Antonelli, Bob (Kim) Antonelli both of Dover, Mike (Cheryl) Antonelli of Dothan, Ala., John (Debbie) Antonelli of Woodbridge, Va., Judy Antonelli of East Providence, R.I., Nancy Wilson of Mineral City, Mary (Jack Canzoneri) Antonelli of Southborough, Mass.; three sisters, Olga Mathias, Mary Bernardo, Josephine Gallucci all of Columbus; a brother, Geno (Ellen) Buzzelli of Columbus; along with 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and she was expecting two more great-grandchildren later this month. In addition to her parents and husband, Norma was also preceded in death by her sister, Levia Crognale. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Interment took place at St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery in Dover. A reception was held at the St. Joseph Family Life Center.
