Rudy Barstow Rudy M. Barstow, 61, of Wooster, died Dec. 13, 2009, at Akron General Medical Center. Rudy was born May 6, 1948, in Stark County, to Eileen and the late Paul Barstow. He had been a truck driver for Quality Block Company since 2002 and attended Parkview Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife, Cynthia Barstow, whom he married in 2001; children, Tracy (J.D.) Liston of North Carolina, Rudy Barstow of Dover, John Barstow of Beloit, Penni (Michael) Tuttle of Fort Wayne, Ind., Michael (Kandy) Hartong of Carrollton, Mindi (Mark) Pearson of Kensington, and Danita Phillips of Magnolia; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill (Carol) Barstow of North Canton, Joe (Della) Barstow of Hudson, Fla., and Robert (Sarah) Barstow of Wooster; and sister, Sue (Pete) McMillen of Malvern. A daughter of the late William and Stella Benedum, Joan was born March 21, 1933, in Midvale. She graduated from Midvale High School. Surviving are her husband, Robert C. Belknap, whom she married in 1952; children, Melody (Chris) Steinebach of Indiana, Carla (John) Cannon of Tuscarawas, Mitch (Sharon) Belknap of Roswell, Jerry Belknap of Pennsylvania, Yvonne Beitzel of California, Crystal (Pete) Schandel of Gnadenhutten, Roxanne (Marc) Lautenschleger of Dover, Brian (Paula) Belknap of Wyoming, Brock (Kim) Belknap of Missouri, and Brett (Jamie) Belknap of New Philadelphia; brother, Jerry Benedum of Virginia; sisters-in-law, Judy Poorman of Roswell and Ruthann Belknap of Brightwood; brother- and sister-in-law, Ray and Cathy Belknap of Roswell; 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Florence Billiter Florence I. Billiter, 84, of Strasburg, died Dec. 18, 2009, at her home, following an extended illness. Born July 12, 1925, in Sharon, Pa., Florence was the daughter of the late George and Florence Kautz. For seven years, she worked at the Strasburg Lawson’s Store as a cashier. She also had a paper route for the Times Reporter for many years and worked for the former Cindy’s Restaurant, Strasburg. She was a member of the Word of Faith Christian Center and the Tuscarawas County Homemakers. Surviving are her husband, Fred Billiter Sr.; sons; Ralph Billiter of New Philadelphia, Russell Billiter of Hannibal, Fred Billiter Jr. of Caldwell, George (Judy) Billiter of Stone Creek, and Roger (Lynn) Billiter of Strasburg; daughters, Nancy (Wayne) O’Brien of Texas, Rita “Skeeter” (Mark) Meeks-Rothacher of Strasburg, and Elda Hadorn of Dover; 30 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Kautz; half-sisters, Georgia Brown and Lucille Cropper Mitchell; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Board, 61, of Amherst, formerly of Orrville, died Dec. 14, 2009, at his residence, following an extended illness. Jack was born August 15, 1948, in Zanesville, to Ellen and the late Richard Board. A 1967 graduate of Orrville High School, he served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years, including service in Vietnam. He worked as a car salesman for Banner Chevrolet, Maibach Ford, and most recently for Premier Pontiac, and previously worked as a sales director for UPS and Bell Telephone. He was a member of Orrville Christian Church and the Orrville Chamber of Commerce through his online business, Ohio Valley Inspirations. Surviving are his wife, Judy Board; sons, Robert (Lisa) Board of Dover and Jeffrey (Kerri) Board of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughter, Michelle McKenna of Franklin, Tenn.; stepsons, Gary (Becky) Myers of Smithville, Keith (Pam) Myers of Marshallville, Dr. Douglas (Kim) Damron of Cincinnati, and David Damron of Lorain; stepdaughter, Lori (Doug) Eggeman of North Lawrence; twin brother, Jim (Marilyn) Board of Dallas, Texas; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bohse, 66, of New Philadelphia, died Dec. 13, 2009, at her home, following a period of declining health. A daughter of the late Arthur and Daisy Harker, Charolette was born Jan. 9, 1943, in Wana, W.Va. For a number of years, she held affiliations with Urhden, Sugarcreek, Associated Grocers, and Express Packaging. Surviving are her husband, Frederick H. Bohse, whom she married in 1971; son, David (Michelle) Bohse of Columbus; daughter, Liz (Frank) Getz of Louisville; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Statler; and brother, Glenn Harker. Born Feb. 21, 1927, in Midvale, Lester was a son of the late Pio and Amelia Cerana. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps at the close of WWII, and had been co-owner of the Y Tavern with his father for a number of years. He retired from Superior Clay in the early 1980s and had previously worked for several area clay companies and coal mines. He was a life member of the VFW, having been primarily active in the former Midvale post, and was a founding member of the Hey Jacks Sportsman’s Club. Surviving are his wife, Faye E. Cerana, whom he married in 1956; son, Lester A. Cerana of Gnadenhutten; a granddaughter; a stepgrandson; brothers, John (Augusta) Cerana of Vineland, N.J., and Robert (Ardeth) Cerana of Uhrichsville; sisters, Margaret “Lena” Cox of Cadiz and Sara (Ben) Metzger of Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Lenora Lenzo and Clara Paina; and brothers, Leo D., Pio “Pete” Jr., and Louis P. Cerana. Services were held Dec. 18, 2009, at R.K. Craine, 49, of Ravenna, formerly of Dover, died Dec. 13, 2009, from injuries received in an auto accident. Born March 27, 1960, in Akron, Shelley was the daughter of Earl and Betty Littlefield. A 1978 graduate of Dover High School, she was a member of Ravenna Church of the Nazarene. She was a graduate of Mt. Vernon Nazarene University, where she received degrees in both psychology and social studies, and taught at Christian schools in Mobile, Alabama, and Toledo. She was employed by Akron Legal Services, was previously a bookkeeper for her father at Dover-Phila Electric, Dover, and had previously worked for Pin Quest, Streetsboro. Surviving are her husband, Clifford L. Craine; brother, Scott (Joan) Littlefield of Souderton, Pa.; her father- and mother-in-law, Clifford and Joann Craine of Bedford; brother-in-law, Kenneth Craine; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Maria Craine. Fisher, 75, of Dover, died Dec. 17, 2009, at Hennis Care Centre, following a long illness. Born Jan. 10, 1934, in Sugarcreek, Freddie was a son of the late Clayton E. and Ruth Fisher. He graduated from Dover High School in 1952 and was employed by the city of Dover, Atwood Lake Resort, Oak Shadows Golf Club, and Union Country Club, from which he retired in 2002. He was a former member of the Singing Wheels Motorcycle Club, as well as the Dover Eagles and Moose lodges. Surviving are his wife, Harriet Fisher, whom he married in 1984; daughters, Patti (Rick) Grove of Clifton, Ariz., Ida (Dan) Pope of Dundee, and Lori (Jim) LeBlanc of Dover; sons, Greg Fisher of Barnhill, and Mike (Patty) Fisher and Tim (Shelly) Fisher, both of Dover; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra (Jack) Shores of Dover; and several nieces and nephews. Hren, 89, of Uhrichsville, died Dec. 14, 2009, at Twin City Hospital, Dennison. Born August 5, 1920, in Dennison, Inez was the daughter of the late David and Julia Nazionale. She was a lifelong parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, Dennison, and was a 1940 graduate of Immaculate Conception School. In recent years, she had been a volunteer server with the Breakfast for Children Program at Immaculate Conception Elementary. She had also worked for a number of area businesses, including Rome’s Grocery Store, Dennison, Nazionale’s Gulf Service Station, Uhrichsville, Tiny’s Inn, Dennison, and Uhrichsville Eagles Aerie #2264 until her retirement in 1988. She was also a volunteer with AARP Charter 4780 in the Twin City area. Surviving are sons, Joseph A. Hren of Uhrichsville and Robert W. (Lisa) Hren of Port Washington; daughter, Loretta M. (Paul) Walker of New Philadelphia; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph D. Nazionale of Dennison; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Nazionale; brothers, Mario, William, and Leo Nazionale; a granddaughter; and a nephew whom she had raised, Michael Nazionale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. “Frank” Hren Jr., whom she married in 1950. Born Sept. 5, 1948, in Dennison, Harold was a son of the late Harold Hughes Sr. and Eula Lowery. He graduated from Dover High School in 1968 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. He retired from Union Camp in 2004, where he was employed for nearly 30 years. Surviving are his wife, Sherry Hughes; children, Denise Hendricks of Massillon and Steven Sherrell of Uhrichsville; sisters, Flora (Clarence) Houston of Detroit, Mich., and Betty Mills of Midvale; brother, Henry Duane Hughes of New Philadelphia; sister-in-law, Mollie Hughes of Dover; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Third St., Dover 44622. Gloria Kouth Gloria Louise Kouth, 74, of Crossville, Tenn., passed away following a long battle with cancer. Gloria was born in Dennison to the late Charles Kelly and Goldie Mae Wright. She was a registered nurse, graduating from Aultman School of Nursing, Canton, in 1956. She spent her career in private duty, mental health at ACDC, and geriatrics in Ohio and Michigan. Upon retirement in 1998, she moved to Tennessee, where she worked with Hospice and volunteered at the Rural Health Clinic in Pleasant Hill. She was also a longtime volunteer at Good Samaritans and the House of Hope, Crossville. She was a longtime member of the Wooster Gnat Boxer Square Dance Club and attended United Methodist Church, Crossville. Surviving are her husband, Dick Kouth; daughters, Kimberly (Roger) Yoder of Mt. Eaton and Noreen (Mike Marsh) Kouth of Massillon; sons, Randy (Camie) Goettge of Virginia and Bryan (Birgit) Kouth of Crossville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Moreland of Dennison, Shirley (Jim) Couch, Darlene (Glenn) Christiansen, and Kaye Schlick, all of Crossville, Tenn.; brothers, Melvin (Ruth) of Bolivar, Ronald (Linda) of Tuscarawas, and John (Terry) of California; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A son of the late Joseph and Melba Lattner, Kelly was born Jan. 20, 1931, in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1950, he enlisted with the U.S. Air Force, and received an honorable discharge in 1954. He was a longtime heavy equipment operator and retired from Ohio Operating Engineers. He was a member of the Dover VFW and served as a past governor of the former New Philadelphia Moose Lodge. Born Dec. 25, 1930, in Boston, Mass., Kathleen was a daughter of the late John and Anna Powers. She made her home in South Boston for many years before moving to Satsuma, Fla., in the mid-1980s. She relocated to Dover in 2006. She was a longtime member of Gate of Heaven Church, Boston, and was presently a member of St. Joseph Church, Dover. Third St., Dover 44622. William Parris William Phelan Parris, 91, of Wooster, died Dec. 14, 2009, at Wooster Community Hospital. William was born April 8, 1918, in Tennessee, to the late James and Ethel Parris. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and had worked for Republic Steel. He was a member of the New Philadelphia American Legion, and moved to Wooster in 2006 from New Philadelphia. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Lois Parris; sons, Fred (Patsy) Parris of Killbuck and James (Susan) Parris of Wooster; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thurman Parris; and sisters, Jean Toth and Betty Limbaugh. Services were held Dec. 16, 2009, at Church of the Cross United Methodist Church, with Rev. A son of the late William and Emma Stiffler, Bud was born June 20, 1930, in Clearfield, Pa. He graduated from Elders Ridge Academy, Cherry Tree, Pa., and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He held many jobs over the years and was known as the first agent for State Farm Insurance in Tuscarawas County. He was employed as a truck driver at the time of his retirement, and was a member of New Philadelphia Elks Lodge 510 and the National Rifle Association. Surviving are children, Suzanne (Tom) Moore of New Philadelphia, and Becki (Jeff) Reiser and Doug (Renee) Stiffler, both of Dover; his former wife, Joan Stiffler of Dover; five grandsons; brother, Bob Stiffler of Apple Creek; and sister, Pat Wolfgram of Kansas City, Kans. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter; a great-grandson; and brothers, Richard and James Stiffler. Born May 26, 1925, in Midvale, Donald was a son of the late Homer William and Frances Mae Swinderman. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and had worked for a number of area businesses including Ross Clay in the Twin City area, Wick’s in Port Washington, and Simonds in Newcomerstown, from which he retired in the late 1980s. He was also president of the Steelworkers’ Union Local for many years and a longtime member of Tuscarawas VFW Post 7943 and Gnadenhutten F&AM Temple. Surviving are a daughter, Linda (Gerald Jr.) Fansler of Port Washington; stepdaughter, Nancy (Louis) Milyiori of Dover; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joanne (Howard) Freeman, Arlene (Tom) Murphy, and Margie Warner, all of Uhrichsville, Shirley Schreiner of Tuscarawas, and Audrey (Glenn) Mullett of Port Washington; brother, George (June) Swinderman of Gnadenhutten; and many nieces and nephews. Genevieve Watson Genevieve M. Watson, 84, of Ashland, died Dec. 17, 2009, at Samaritan Regional Health System. Genevieve was born Feb. 3, 1925, in Antioch, to the late Lawrence and Bertha Jackson. She was a former baker at Archway Cookies and a member of Ashland Church of Christ.
