Margaret A. Bucher, 86, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly March 12, 2010, at Country Club Retirement Campus, Dover, where she was recuperating following a fall. Born July 4, 1923, Margaret was a daughter of the late Henry and Agnes B. Miles. She graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1941 and was a life member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, New Philadelphia. Margaret was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also employed in her later years by Montgomery Ward, Dover, and was a life member of the Lady Elks of BPOE 510, New Philadelphia. She enjoyed travel and had fond memories of trips to Mackinac Island, Biltmore House in Asheville, N.C., and Colonial Williamsburg, among others. Surviving are her husband, Earl A. Bucher, whom she married in 1945; daughter, Carol Ann Porter of Dover; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Duane) Vickers of New Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Helen (William) Goudy; and sister-in-law, Gladys Bucher. Services were held March 15, 2010, at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, New Philadelphia, with Pastor Stephen L. Patrick officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Burial Park, New Philadelphia.
