Dorothy L. Beechy, 88, of Loudonville, died March 13, 2010, at Colonial Manor Health Care Center, Loudonville, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Dorothy was born Sept. 29, 1921, in Loudonville, to the late Alvia and Helen Young. She was a 1939 graduate of Loudonville High School, a Loudonville resident her entire life, and a life member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was active in many activities. She was the bookkeeper for Young Brothers Garage for many years and then later became a bus driver for Dale-Roy School and Training Center, Ashland. She loved to travel and shop, and was a longtime member of the Sew What Club. Surviving are sons, Dick (Betty) Beechy of Sturgis, Mich., Gregg (Connie) Beechy of Loudonville, Tom (JoAnn) Beechy of Douglasville, Ga., and Chris Beechy of Ashland; eight grandchildren, Rick (Kelly) Beechy, Eric Beechy, Deb Beechy, Craig (Tara) Beechy, Kendra (Zach) Eikleberry, Melissa Beechy, Michelle (Danny) Keen, and Michael Beechy; and nine great-grandchildren, Ally, Jaret, Erika, Landon, Owen, Holden, Caitlin, Ellie, and Gavin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Beechy, whom she married in 1941; a grandson, Joel Thomas Beechy; and sister, Eula Mae McAvene. Services will be held March 16, 2010, at 11 a.m., at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with Rev. Scott Henderson officiating.
