Charlotte J. Shane, 75, of Ravenna, died March 28, 2010, at the home of her daughter in Big Prairie. Charlotte was born June 20, 1934, in Youngstown, to the late Robert and Mabel Chesnut. A resident of Ravenna since 1966, she was a 1952 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and was a 30-year office manager of Paeco Rubber Company, Ravenna, retiring in 1998. She was a member of First Congregational Church, Ravenna, the women’s fellowship, and the Morning Circle at her church, and was involved for many years in the social activities at the Ravenna Elks Club. Surviving are a son, Thomas (Claudia) Shane of Kent; daughter, Cheryl (Richard) Miller of Big Prairie; five grandchildren, Katlin Gray, Jessie Gray, Kelly Fryberger, Angela (Michael) Folks, and Amy (Brian) Blankenship; four great-grandchildren, Seth, Michela, Taylor, and Will; and brother, Robert Chesnut of Prescott, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Shane, whom she married in 1953. Memorial services will be held April 17, 2010, at 11:30 a.m., at First Congregational Church, Ravenna, with Revs. Pamela Cheney and Mark Simone officiating. There will be no visitation.
