Irene H. Little, 95, of Park Village Health Care Center, formerly of Dover, died March 30, 2010. Irene was born Sept. 13, 1914, in South Bend, Ind., to the late Herman and Rose Monthi. Her youth was spent in South Bend, where she was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and attended parochial school for eight years, Muessel School for one year, and Central Senior High School for three years, graduating in 1933. Her husband, Charles, was employed by an uncle from Quincy, Ill., who was the contractor for the Zoar Levee and Wills Creek Dam. This brought them to Ohio and the adventure of living in the Zoar Hotel for a while, several of the old homes in Zoar, and an old farmhouse just above where the dam was being built. They attended Our Lady of Lourdes near Wills Creek and also belonged to St. Patrick’s Church, Mineral City, where Irene was a member of the St. Jude’s Club. Irene and Charles were owners of Midtown Welding, where Irene was her husband’s bookkeeper until their retirement, turning the business over to their son, David. In 1970, they purchased a home in Dover. They were members of St. Joseph’s Church, where Irene was a lector and greeter for many years. She also belonged to the Christian Mothers, Senior Club, Regina Club, and LCBA, where she was a former secretary. Irene enjoyed bowling in the Saturday Night Couples League and the Thursday Afternoon League for many years. Charles and Irene especially enjoyed square and round dancing and belonged to the Merri Lou Rounds Shirts and Skirts Square Dancing Club. They attended many of the national conventions held in various cities, and enjoyed traveling throughout many countries, especially cruises. In years past, Irene belonged to Twig 7 of Union Hospital, where she enjoyed making articles for the annual Christmas bazaar. She also enjoyed ceramic class in her neighborhood and made many large and small ceramic trees for her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing and crafts, making favors for her clubs’ special parties. She also was an avid bridge player and belonged to several bridge clubs and the Tuscarawas Valley Duplicate Club. Surviving are a daughter, Rosemary (David) Deioma of Chagrin Falls; sons, Charles Little (fiancee, Donna) of Fort Worth, Texas, Michael (Karen) Little of Columbiana, and David (Brenda) Little of Dover; a nephew, Paul Dean Busch of South Bend, Ind.; 14 grandchildren, Charles J.
