Virginia E. McGuire, 91, of Dennison, died April 6, 2010, at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center, Uhrichsville, following a lengthy illness. Born Jan. 28, 1919, in Dennison, Virginia was a daughter of the late Paul F. and Ina E. Grace. She was a 1937 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School before furthering her education at Columbus Business College. A resident of Dennison throughout her life, she was a life member of Immaculate Conception Church, Dennison, and its Altar Society, where she was very active in the life of her parish until her health prevented her. She also volunteered at the Twin City Christian Service Center Food Pantry for many years and had been a volunteer at the Dennison Depot Canteen during WWII. She will also be fondly remembered by many in the railroading circles as she helped countless widows navigate the complexities of the benefits system upon the loss of their husbands. Surviving are a sister, Betty J. Roncovitz of Houston, Pa., and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Spencer McGuire, whom she married in 1941; brother, Paul R. Grace; and half-brothers, J. William, Roy F., and Hubert C. Grace. Services will be held April 9, 2010, at 10 a.m, at Immaculate Conception Church, with Father Anthony Lonzo officiating. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. Family and friends are invited to call at R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home, Dennison, from 5-7 p.m., during which time a Christian Wake Service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution may do so to Immaculate Conception Church’s Cemetery Fund and Hospice of Tuscarawas County.
