Roy M. Miller, 78, of Shreve, died April 21, 2010, at the home of his daughter, following a short illness. Roy was born March 27, 1932, in Corfu, N.Y., to the late Monroe N. and Mary Ann Miller. He was a truck driver most of his life, retiring in 2006, and from 2006 to 2010 he worked part-time for Keim Concrete, Shreve. Roy enjoyed restoring John Deere tractors and singing, adding his bass to the songs as people sang to him while he was ill. He wholeheartedly supported his grandchildren’s piano recitals, baseball games, and drama. Surviving are his wife, Velma Miller, whom he married in 1955; children, Karen (Terry) Croskey of Shreve, Joyce (Jeffrey) Singer of Wooster, Cheryl Miller of Shreve, and Dwight (SueAnn) Miller of Lakeville; two grandchildren, Nicole Miller and Tyler Miller; and siblings, F. Marie (Willard) Biddy of Texas/New Mexico, Edna (Willard) Beachy of Millersburg, Linda Miller of Wooster, Daniel (Ina) Miller of Minerva, Abraham (Lucille) Miller of Wooster, Jay (Lynn) Miller of Middlefield, David (Judy) Miller of Chesapeake, Va., Ruth Davenport of Virginia Beach, Va., and Naomi (Steven) Pace and Lois Judd, both of Ashland, Va. He was preceded in death by a son, Marlin “Bud” Miller; infant sister, Sarah Miller; and infant brother, Samuel Miller. Services will be held April 25, 2010, at 2 p.m., at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg. Burial will be in Ripley Cemetery.
