Gerald W. Lorenz, 88, of Dover, died May 21, 2010, at Schoenbrunn Healthcare, following an extended illness. Born April 21, 1922, in Coshocton County, Gerald was the son of the late Ernest and Bessie Lorenz. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In 1982, he retired from Gundy Construction Company, New Philadelphia. He was a life member of the Dover Elks Lodge and a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Dover. Surviving are a son, James Lorenz of Dover; and two grandchildren, Lindsay Lorenz of Zoar and Adam Gray of University Heights. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lorenz, whom he married in 1946. Private services will be held May 24, 2010, at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Pastor Brian Flood officiating.
