Byrl E. Wurthmann, 91, of Mansfield, formerly of Holmes County, died May 23, 2010, at Wedgewood Estates. Bryl was born April 16, 1919, in Millersburg, to the late Floyd Elton and Ida Boyd. She was a graduate of Berlin High School, a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mt. Hope, and the Ladies Aid of the church. Byrl and her husband, Hermann, owned and operated Boyd & Wurthmann Restaurant and Grocery, Berlin, retiring in 1984. She was a great pie baker. Byrl enjoyed puzzles, traveling, and cross-stitching, and loved her flowers and gardening. Surviving are her husband, Hermann Wurthmann, whom she married in 1940; sons, Dale (Verta) Wurthmann of Mansfield and Hal (Lisa) Wurthmann of Las Vegas, Nev.; three grandchildren, Tammy, Todd (Julie), and Jamie; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jordan Wurthmann; brother, Waive (Vera) Boyd of Berlin; and special niece, Ruth (Howard) Nussbaum of Kidron. She was preceded in death by a son, Lynn, and infant sons, Hermann and Lyle; a grandson, Dale; sister, Fern; and brothers, Dale and Glen. Services will be held May 27, 2010, at 11 a.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mt. Hope, with Pastor James Pemberton officiating. Burial will be in Berlin Cemetery. Friends may call May 26, from 4-8 p.m., at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, and one hour prior to services at the church. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. John’s Church, Mt. Hope, or Hospice Med Central Hospital, Mansfield.
