Adrian M. Stull, 85, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully May 27, 2010, at New Dawn Health Care Center, following a period of declining health. Born Oct. 4, 1924, in Mineral City, Adrian was the son of the late Telfird Emmet and Barbara Fay Stull. After completing his formal education, he joined the U.S. Army, having served his country in the European Theatre. Upon his return home, he joined the professional workplace, retiring as the service manager for Truck Sales & Service, having worked there more than 40 years. When not at work, Adrian enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was also a member of Holmes United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 205, Dover. Surviving are a daughter, Linda (Greg) Zesiger of New Philadelphia; sons, Adrian Eugene Stull of Northfield, Mich., and John William (Carole) Stull of Cairo, Egypt; sister, Dorothy Fay Berkheimer of Sandy Township; and five grandchildren, Nichole (Chad) Merkel, Christopher John Stull, Matthew Adrian Stull, Robert Edward Stull, and Jacob William Stull. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Alberta Stull, whom he married in 1947; brothers, Emmett, Charles, Kalman, and Glenn; and sister, Lucille Miles. Adrian was able to maintain his independence the past few years because he received excellent care and a lot of love from Clara Miller, Emma Yoder, Mary Menges, Edna Yoder, Connie Tice, and Ruth Ann Erb. Services will be held June 1, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., at Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory, New Philadelphia, with Rev. Rodger Warnes officiating. Burial will be in Holmes Church Cemetery, where the Dover VFW will render military honors. Friends and family are invited back to the Geib Family Center, where a meal will be shared. Visitation will be held May 31, from 4-7 p.m. Those unable to attend may send the family personal condolences by signing his online register at www.geibcares.com.
