Louise M. “Lou” Wachtel, 91, of Loudonville, died May 23, 2010, at Wooster Community Hospital, following a period of declining health. Lou was born Jan. 30, 1919, in Cleveland, to the late Charles and Matilda Jelinek. She was employed for nine years at Richmond Brothers Clothing Company, Cleveland, before moving to Loudonville in 1947. Lou loved golfing at Round Lake Golf Course and bowling at Mohican Lanes for many years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Loudonville, and American Legion Auxiliary Post 257, Loudonville. Surviving are her husband, Walter G. Wachtel, whom she married in 1964; daughter, Gail (Jim) Klingler; sons, Roger Wachtel and Rich (Robin) Wachtel, both of Loudonville; three grandchildren, Amy (Mike) Ullman of Loudonville, and Shalon Frye and Rhiannon Wachtel, both of Mansfield; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Dorothy Klima and Gerry Forms, both of Cleveland. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Lavengood; and brother, Elmer Jelinek. Services were held May 26, 2010, at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with Rev.
