Dorothy L. Demsky, 98, of Beach City, died June 1, 2010, at Brewster Parke, following a period of declining health. Dorothy was born Dec. 24, 1911, in Fargo, Okla., to the late Benjamin Franklin and Alma Walter, and had resided in Stark County most of her life. She graduated from Brewster High School and attended Kent State University. She taught school for 20 years, including three years at Mapleton Special and one year at Justus, and retired from Fairless Local Schools after teaching at Wilmot for 16 years. She was a member of Wilmot United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Emily (Keith) Slusser of Alliance; son, William (Christine) Demsky of Beach City; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and sister, Ruth Glessner of Beach City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil W. Demsky, whom she married in 1938. Graveside services will be held June 7, 2010, at 11 a.m., in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wilmot. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. at Wilmot United Methodist Church following graveside services. According to her wishes, there will be no calling hours.
