Thomas R. Owens, 60, of Dover, died July 2, 2011, at Union Hospital, following a two-year illness. Born July 27, 1950, in Massillon, Tom, as he was known to family and friends, attended Tuslaw High School. On August, 29, 1969, he married the former Carol Klett, and together reared one son. For 35 years, Tom was the owner and operator of Tom’s Auto Repair, Dover. He enjoyed spending time with his wife as they toured the countryside by motorcycle. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandsons as well as reading and listening to music. Those who knew him were aware of his caring and generous personality. He was always willing to help others when a need was presented. In addition to his wife of 41 years, Tom is survived by a son, Jeff (Alisa) Owens of New Philadelphia; brother, Jay “Chip” Owens of Mechanicstown; grandsons, Johnathan and Nathan; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation or services. Cremation will be cared for by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory, Dover.
