Ralph Dwight McKee died July 16, 2011, at Akron City Hospital, following complications from falling. Dwight was born June 16, 1929, at the family home in Wooster, to the late Ralph Cloy and Rhea M. McKee. He graduated from Shreve High School in 1947 and on April 15, 1951, married Yvonne N. “Bonnie” Smith. She survives. He had worked at Rubbermaid, Inc., for 38 years in labor, supervision, and quality control, retiring in 1990. Dwight lived on the family farm all his life, building a home down the road from where he was born. All three of his children have their homes on the farm also. He was a past 4-H adviser in the Junior Horse Division and enjoyed keeping in touch with that department for many years later. Watching his children and grandchildren show their horses was a great joy to him. Talking with friends or strangers, riding his Goldwing, or taking care of his home, farm, and family was what he enjoyed. Besides his wife, Bonnie, he is survived by a son, Randy (Debra) McKee of Wooster; daughters, Vicki (David) Mandley and Sherry (Bill) Napier, both of Wooster; grandchildren, Cass (Darren) Dawson, Cortney and Morgan Mandley, Cody Napier (fiancee Chelsea Ogden), and Brandy Napier; stepgranddaughters, Corrie Minner (fiance Rob Cunningham) and Lori Minner; great-granddaughters, Megan and Maddy Dawson; stepgreat-grandchildren, Kasey and Jessica Ross; and many close cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Edward Swartz; and sister-in-law, Helen Swartz. A celebration of Dwight’s life will be held August 12, at 7 p.m., at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Wooster. Memorial contributions may be made to the 4-H Junior Horse Division of Wayne County or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
