Jonas J. Miller, 49, of 8356 TR 656, Fredericksburg, died suddenly on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013 of a heart attack. He was born in Holmes County on Nov. 29, 1963 to Joe J.C. and Mattie J. (Troyer) Miller and married Ada J. Schlabach on Sept. 13, 1984. She survives. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church where he was ordained a deacon on May 1, 2004. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, David (Katie) Miller of Fredericksburg, Steven (Fannie) Miller of Apple Creek, Elsie (Levi) Wengerd of Millersburg and Miriam (Demas) Hershberger of the home; eight grandchildren; his mother of Fredericksburg; his father-in-law, Joe J. Schlabach of Apple Creek; sisters, Ella (Robert) Troyer of Knox County and Sarah (Davis) Hershberger of Fredericksburg; brothers, Raymond (Elizabeth) Miller of Apple Creek, Christopher (Miriam) Miller of Fredericksburg, Paul (Barbara) Miller of Fredericksburg and Joseph (Mary) Miller of Millersburg. He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Annie Irene (Hochstetler) Schlabach. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 9:30 a.m. at the family home with Bishop Levi J. Miller officiating. Burial was in the Miller Cemetery, Paint Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the family home. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.
