OBITUARY

                        
Dan Lansberry Dan Lansberry, 51, of Dover, died Jan. 5, 2010, in Brunswick, Ga., from an apparent heart attack while traveling to the funeral services of his mother-in-law, Margaret “Kathy” Easlick in Florida. Born Oct. 1, 1958, in Beaver Falls, Pa., Dan was a son of Paul “Jack” Lansberry of Beaver Falls and the late Patricia Anne Lansberry. A 1977 graduate of Blackhawk High School, he continued his education at Penn State University, majoring in metallurgy. After graduation in 1981, he went to work in the steel industry. He was employed by Greer Steel, Dover, for 13 years, and by WCI Steel (now Seversal North America) for the last nine years. He enjoyed working on specialty steel and was senior engineer - special products. Dan was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church, New Philadelphia. He always dropped donations in Salvation Army kettles, purchased gifts for Share-A-Christmas, and donated to the Greater Dover-New Philadelphia Food Pantry. He also gave of his time generously, volunteering as a Dover Girl’s Softball coach, as a timer for Dover Middle School Track, and as a scorekeeper for Dover Cross Country. Surviving are his wife, Connie Lansberry, whom he married in 1985; daughters, Tricia Lansberry and Kathie Lansberry (fiance, Cory Ayers), both of Dover; his stepmother, Thora Lansberry; sisters, Rebecca “Becky” (Warren) Simons and Trisha Lansberry, both of Beaver County, Pa.; and brother, Joseph Lansberry of Beaver County, Pa. Services will be held Jan. 16, 2010, at 11 a.m., at Broadway United Methodist Church, 120 Church Ave. SE, New Philadelphia, with Pastor Bill Sowers officiating. Burial will be in Dover Burial Park. Following the committal, there will be a luncheon at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center, Dover. Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Jan. 15, from 5-8 p.m., and Jan. 16, from 10-11 a.m., at the church.
